Using the CAD/CAM workflow, the time required for dental restoration fabrications has been significantly reduced when compared to the conventional restorative work flow. Improved patient comfort has been reported for IOS and clinicians no longer need to pour the stone casts and wait for their setting. The use of intraoral scanning (IOS) for the Virtual Patient Models creation and Computer-Aided Design/Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) of esthetic and high-strength all-ceramic restorations have been widely adopted in dental clinics. While intraoral scanning has perceived advantages, many students still prefer impression making that works more efficient to them.ĭigital technologies have been utilized to aid the disease diagnosis and management in dentistry. Regression shown that students preferred a technique that they perceived is more efficient ( P = 0.000). #Impression dental software#Higher proportion of students in the Pro-scanning group felt that intraoral-scanning requires less chairside support, easier to master as a beginner, more efficient in their hands and they can deal well with the scanner software than that in Others ( P < 0.05). More than half of students in both groups felt that intraoral-scanning is easier to identify defect, easier in infection control and require less chairside support. Forty-four (45.4 %) students either preferred impression-making ( n = 21) or not sure ( n = 23) were categorized as Others. Fifty-three (54.6 %) students preferred intraoral-scanning and were categorized as Pro-scanning group. Eighty-one students (83.5 %) have tried intraoral scanning on peers. Ninety-seven students participated in this study with a response rate of 96.0 %. All tests were performed at significance level α = 0.05. The results were analysed using McNemar tests and binary logistic regression test. Their preference on the intraoral-scanning/impression making techniques and their perception on these techniques including the ease of defect identification, ease of infection control, need of chairside support, ease to master the technique as a beginner, efficiency in their hands and ease to handle the scanner software (yes/no) were collected. Methodsįinal-year dental students from the 20 cohorts were invited to complete an online questionnaire via Google-Form. I would like a call back from you Dr Flanagan so we can resolve this because your office manager lacks professionalism and honestly lack of empathy. To investigate the preference and perception on intraoral scanning and impression making among dental students. She also implied she called the office who did work on me last week and that they told her you didn’t do any damage but after that I called the same office to clarify & they denied that question & said she only asked if they had seen me. Sherrie tells me she’s agitated with me because I have not paid and I put her name on the line because according to her she did me a favor for working out a payment plan and then threatens to place my account in collections by tomorrow and I told her I can’t agree to $794.56, for the next 3 months, my husband is out of work due to covid 19, and she dismisses by saying “ I’m only working 1 day a week” and then says I have until next Monday to let her know, when I asked for you Dr Flanagan to call me directly she had the audacity to hang up on me. I was not being rude to her while expressing my feelings, I did use some language I that I shouldn’t have used, but it wasn’t directed to her with mal intent, everyone has those moments and for that I do apologize. I was expressing to her my frustration for non payment. unpleasant experience I had with your work. Flanagan, I am leaving a complaint due to the unprofessionalism of your finance manager Sherrie.
